It’s something of a rarity to be lucky enough to play with your childhood teammate. There’s an example of this rare occurrence in the situation that Houston Rockets big men Josh Smith and Dwight Howard find themselves in.
Last night during the Rockets drubbing of the Dallas Mavericks to get a 2-0 series lead in the NBA’s Western Conference playoffs, Smith and Howard showed off how tight their bond really is.
The Rockets dropped 14 dunks on the Mavericks in Game 2, with most of them in emphatic fashion in the second half courtesy of passes from Smith to Howard. In total, Smith had 9 assists on the night 6 of them to Dwight on Alley-oops and it was a dream come true for the 2 players.

The dunks also got a nice ‘NBA Jam’ spin from Matt Moore of CBS Sports because we all know how much the Rockets organization loves the NBA Jam video game.
