While the Wizards were looking to create a more comfortable lead, John Wall drove to the basket and found Nene pretty much wide open on the opposite block. Doing what he does best, John Wall found Nene and fed the Big Brazilian for an easy two points on the scoreboard. Lou Williams smartly decided to not jump for the ball as Nene slammed it in to help the Wizards continue to maintain a lead. The only downside to that is Nene not being able to put Williams on a poster to be put on the walls in Verizon Center.
If Wall can continue to find his bigs on the block for easy baskets while getting them involved, the Wizards will surely get some additional production and defensive effort for an underrated frontcourt. Today was Nene’s opportunity to step up, but it may be Marcin Gortat’s time next game. That’s the luxury of having two solid big man who are very capable of scoring the ball. Combinations like this are going to guide the Wizards past Toronto in the series.
