James Harden leads one of the most explosive offenses in the NBA with the three-point happy Houston Rockets leading the charge as one of the top teams in the league. They currently have the third-best record in the Western Conference, and they’re ramping up the push towards the top.
But the Rockets are taking their explosive show on the road to Los Angeles, James Harden’s home area. Ahead of their primetime matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, Harden stopped by the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ show and spoke to the recent Oscars host about a multitude of topics.
Harden spoke with Kimmel about his new kicks, the ‘Harden Vol.1’. He chatted with Jimmy about the dates inscribed into the sneaker, which are the birthdates of both his mother and grandmother. He also details the connection he has with his mom and what it’s like for him to return to Los Angeles.
‘The Beard’ also gushed about his love for the legend, Kobe Bryant, a childhood hero. As a kid growing up in the California area as a Los Angeles Lakers fan, it’s not hard to understand why he feels connected to Kobe. Bryant and Harden also shared the same agent, new Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, which Jimmy and James talked about a little bit.
