The Cleveland Cavaliers victory over the Chicago Bulls was full of highlights all afternoon on Easter Sunday. You would think the Cavs dominated and won by double digits after seeing this amazing J.R. Smith shot, Kyrie Irving’s deep 3 and LeBron James’ triple-double but they actually only won by 5.
J.R. Smith set the stage before Irving hit his miraculous shot by doing some amazing shooting of his own to end the first half. Smith received the pass from LeBron around the half-court area, he dribbled once, took 2 steps, and threw up a shot from right around half-court, fading away, out-of-bounds, ending up in the front row seats with a fan who welcomed him to his section.
Smith finished with 24 points on the day on 8-17 shooting from the field, but they were all 3’s in typical J.R. Smith fashion. You can understand now why LeBron might have wanted him more than Iman Shumpert.
He also set a record because why not. Take a bow J.R. Swish.
J.R. Smith has attempted 17 3-point shots, 0 2-pointers – an NBA record for most 3-pointers w/o a 2 (#Elias). (He's made 8.)
