Indiana Pacers young star Paul George is coming off a horrific leg injury over the summer and has began the process of his return.
He’s recently faced with a challenge of returning this year based off the expectations from his team President Larry Bird. The video above shows George practicing on 2-on-2 drills with other members of the Pacers team.
Now there’s been a date set, a target day if you will of March 1st to get George back in full practice but, it seems like George is unsure of being ready for that day.
Following from Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star:
Ideally, that’s a great time where I want to be back. Obviously, I’m a long shot away from it,” George said. “I’ve got so many steps to get to that point but looking forward that’s (March) when I want to be back. I don’t want to come back too soon and be out there and have a chance to re-injure. I want it to be fully right.
PG said once cleared to play, conditioning is "going to be the toughest part… Getting my wind back, being able to play like I used to."

Paul George, on his mentality: "I'm not too worried about re-injuring it. The only problem I'll have is just getting back to where I was."

Paul George says he remains hopeful that he'll return this year but is still uncertain if that will happen.

George is taking the right approach to this. There’s no need to rush back especially since the Indiana Pacers are no where near a playoff spot right now, so the risk of re-injuring would be there with nothing to play for. Hold off the rest of this season and come back when the team is all full strength.
