Utah Jazz are one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the All-Star Break. They have a top 10 defense and they also have one of the best records in the league since that time as well.
They’ve beaten a few good teams but last night, they had the challenge going up against the Memphis Grizzlies who are fighting to hold the 2 seed in the Western Conference.
It came down to the wire and the ball was in Gordon Hayward’s hands, exactly where the Jazz want it. He attempted a corner 3 but it was blocked by Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol.
Then as the buzzer sounded, the refs blew the whistle and said that Gasol actually fouled Hayward on the three-point attempt. Didn’t look like he did but irregardless, the refs still called it.
Well as you can imagine the Grizzlies couldn’t believe it but Hayward still had to go to the line to shoot 3 free throws and send the game to overtime.
Unfortunately for Hayward, he fell victim of the classic Rasheed Wallace ‘Ball Don’t Lie’ rule. Hayward missed the final free throw and the Grizzlies escaped with a win.
