Clippers power forward, Glen Davis, was fined $15,000 for kicking a seat cushion into the stands after the Celtics role players nearly blew lead and were substituted out of the game. The starters were able to maintain the lead once they came in, and the Clippers were able to pull out a 119-106 victory on the road.
In his 14 minutes of play in Boston, Davis scored four points, and grabbed just one rebound. Davis is no longer the player that he was in his last season in Boston where he averaged 11.7 points, and 5.4 rebounds in 29.5 minutes per game, but is still a serviceable big off the bench in the league. This season, Davis has only averaged 4.1 points, and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game.
The fine won’t hurt Big Baby’s wallet too much, but at least he got to take all of his anger out on the soft seat cushion. For his own sake, he was smart to not be one of those guys to hit a brick wall or a fire hydrant after a disappointing performance.
