The Golden State Warriors, fresh off a near upset loss to the Philadelphia 76ers just one night before, struggled to get anything going against the New York Knicks on Sunday. The Warriors had their worst first quarter of the season, scoring only 18 points and turning the ball over eight times in the quarter. It looked like it would be another tough contest for Golden State but the second half came and the Warriors started hitting on all cylinders.
A six point halftime lead became a 17 point lead after the third quarter and the Warriors never looked back. The high scoring man on the night was Klay Thompson with his 34 points as Stephen Curry struggled to score, dropping only 13 points on the night but the real star of the night was Draymond Green.
The first time All-Star put up a triple-double putting up 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while he shot a perfect 9-9 from the field. It was Draymond’s ninth triple-double of the season.
Green’s night wasn’t all that great though, he did manage to airball a free throw and that was his only blemish on the evening.
