Draymond Green has been a revelation this season. Were it not for the incredible play of his teammate, Steph Curry, Green may have been the frontrunner for the MVP. The Golden State Warriors’ power forward is doing near-revolutionary things at his position as a do-it-all player on a daily basis.
On Saturday against Denver Nuggets, Green continued his great play with his best game of the season, recording his league-leading sixth triple-double season of the season and his second in as many games. To be more specific, Green put up 29 points, 17 rebounds, and 14 assists as well as four steals and a blocked shot. Not surprisingly, the forward had the game-high plus-minus at +18, an incredible number considering the Warriors won by only three points in a tight overtime contest.
With Steph Curry leaving the game during halftime due to a shin contusion, Green’s stellar play was necessary for the Warriors to pull out the win against a surprisingly tough Nuggets team and to preserve the team’s unbeaten at home streak. As usual, Green was able to come through for his team, leading the undermanned squad to another victory as they reach a league-leading 31-2 record on the season.
