Draymond Green has flown somewhat under the radar while Steph Curry has rightfully generated all the buzz during the Golden State Warriors’ historically great season. Green has been one of the biggest keys to the Warriors starting at a 24-0 record and he proved it once again on Friday night.
Without Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes, both nursing ankle injuries, Green took over a very competitive game. The power forward put up 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks en route to a grueling 124-119 victory against the Boston Celtics in double overtime. Green recorded the first 5×5 in the NBA since Nicholas Batum in 2012 and only the 16th such game in NBA history.
For at least one night, the Warriors’ MVP was Draymond Green.
