Two Atlanta legends pitted against each other with the highest of stakes. One, a Hall of Famer and nine-time all-star, the greatest Atlanta Hawk of all time: Dominique Wilkins. The other, an acclaimed artist with multiple hits and multiple chains, 2 Chainz.
Ahead of 2 Chainz’ performance at halftime of the Hawks’ game on December 30th, the Hawks released a promo video of Atlanta’s two greatest celebrities in the greatest three-point shootout of all time.
Lest you think Wilkins is too old for this [redacted], the former Hawks star showed off his range beating 2 Chainz in a dominant effort from behind the arc.
Despite trash talk from the Atlanta-based rapper, Nique held his composure, scoring seven and nine points in each of the two rounds. Mr. Chainz came close to the upset in the first round, scoring six points, but only mustered up five in the second round as he was cold to start out.
It was a valiant effort from 2 Chainz, but ultimately the youth and inexperience reared its ugly head. Dominique Wilkins took advantage of his veteran wiliness to show why he is regarded as one of the best scorers of all time and has his jersey retired in the Philips Arena rafters.
