Nowitzki is the seventh player in NBA history to reach 28K.
Dirk Nowitzki scored his 28,000th point on this shot in the third quarter of the Dallas Mavericks’ 135-131 routing of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. Dirk got a clean look from three on a catch-and-shoot as a result of the Thunder rookie Mitch McGary clearly not paying attention to personnel.
Dirk joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Wilt Chamberlain in the 28K club. Winning a championship in 2011 was the crucial stamp on Dirk’s legacy. He continues to be a threat and he’s outlived eras with a timeless game. Nowitzki is definitely the greatest Maverick of all time and the continued accolades only add to his Hall of Fame worthiness.
