This may not be the shot Scott Brook wants Dion Waiters to be shooting on a nightly basis, but at least it fell on this occasion. Waiters was even able to use his athleticism to draw the foul on Ben McLemore, and finished the play through contact with a reverse layup. As long as he makes this shot, Scott Brooks can’t really do anything other than look the other way.
Waiters may still be used to not getting the ball much back in his Cleveland days where if he passed the ball, he knew he would not be seeing the rock once again on that possession. At least Oklahoma City knows that Waiters has sky-high confidence and will not be scared if he able to make his first ever playoff appearance if the Thunder can sneak into the playoffs.
Waiters finished the night with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 40 minutes of play. The performance by Waiters helped to lead the Thunder to a 116-103 victory over Sacramento.
