Earlier Thursday morning, former University of Maryland star Dez Wells attended a pre-draft workout at Verizon Center for the Wizards. The workout also included Arizona forward Brandon Ashley, UC Davis guard Corey Hawkins, Iona forward David Laury, Serbia forward Nikola Radicovic, and UNLV guard Rashad Vaughn.

Wells seemed to be pleased with how he performed in the workout and appeared to have enjoyed himself during his time with the Wizards. He stressed how he focused on mainly defense, something he will need to become an expert at if he plans on locking down the quick guards featured in the NBA.
John Wall and Wells played high school basketball together, and have had a relationship for many years, so finding a home in Washington could be an ideal situation. As far as playing time goes, it would be tough for Wells to find himself with a large role, but he could grow as a backup in DC as he develops his skills before being shoved into a larger role.
The Wizards currently hold the 19th pick in the draft, and are confusing everybody on which way they are leaning. If Wells finds himself available late in the second round or as an undrafted free agent, Washington may be the perfect place for him to call home.
