Ben Wallace created a career that placed him firmly in the history and among the royalty of the Detroit Pistons. The center was an integral part of the Pistons team that won the 2004 championship. Known for his rim presence and intimidation factor as well as for rocking a ‘fro, Wallace became one of the most iconic players in NBA history.
On Saturday, the big man saw his hard work come to fruition as he watched the Pistons retire his number three jersey and raise it to the rafters. It was a well-deserved honor for a player who averaged seven points, eleven rebounds, and over two blocks per game in nine years as a Piston.
Before Wallace and his family watched the honor, however, Big Ben received a heartfelt speech from former teammate and co-champion Rasheed Wallace:

It was an altogether special night in Detroit as an all-time great was honored and the Pistons secured a huge win over the Golden State Warriors. Perhaps, Wallace’s intimidation factor once again played a role in a Detroit victory.
