I challenge anyone reading this to show me a more perfectly timed commercial then this one. With the recent devastating news that Derrick Rose will need surgery on the same meniscus that he tore before, a new Powerade commercial was released to empower believers and disbelievers together.

The poem is a the poem “A Rose That Grew From The Concrete” by the late Tupac Shakur. The wordplay on ‘rose’ and the idea of Rose living in the boroughs of Chicago, really shows you the struggle a young Derrick Rose went through. Hopefully Derrick Rose can come back stronger then ever, and rise from the concrete.
