Last night the Memphis Grizzlies took on the Sacramento Kings in a game that I’m sure all-star Demarcus Cousins glad is over.
Cousins picked up three quick fouls in the first half forcing coach George Karl to send his star to the bench. Cousins then proceeded to destroy an innocent folding chair and startle his teammates and fans behind it.
In the third quarter Grizzlies big man Zach Randolph gets into a minor altercation, officials and player from both teams diffused the situation swiftly though. (Randolph received a technical for this play).
Then less than a minute after that altercation Cousins has to absorb two consecutive elbows from Randolph.
Cousins then picked up his fourth foul on a charging call the following play. He finished the game with 16 points, nine rebounds and two assists before following out in the last minute of play. His Kings won however 102-90 and snapped the nine game losing streak they had versus the Grizzlies.
Cousins really surprised me by not retaliating against Randolph either time. Just when you thought he had lost it mentally after destroying that chair he keeps his cool when confronted and elbowed by Randolph.
Look for Cousins to rebound and have a more calm and better game against the Spurs on Friday.
