Deron Williams had his first hero moment in Dallas on Tuesday night. The Mavericks’ point guard made the biggest play of the game in swishing a game-winning buzzer-beater in double overtime to beat the Sacramento Kings. With just over two seconds remaining, the much maligned guard received the ball in the corner, patiently pump faked to lose his defender, and made the shot to give his team the 117-116 victory.
That was not the only buzzer beater in the game, however. Late in regulation, Kings center DeMarcus Cousins drove to the rim to score a lay-up and send the game into overtime:
It’s rare to see two buzzer beaters in one game, but fans were treated to such an event on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the Kings, their efforts came in a loss – their 22nd straight in Dallas.
