Led by 42 points from DeMar DeRozan, the Raptors were able to beat the Rockets 99-96 in a nail-biter. At one point, Houston led by 11 points, but DeRozan was able to lead Toronto to a comeback and improve their record to 44-30.
DeRozan scored his 42 points on a 14/27 shooting performance that included 11 rebounds, and an assist in 41 minutes of action. DeRozan was able to control whoever the Rockets sent at him, which for the bulk of the game was either James Harden or Trevor Ariza. Both Harden and Ariza seemed to just not be able to keep up with all DeRozan was able to do in the victory.
After the dominating performance by DeRozan, he is now averaging 19.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.21 steals per game. DeRozan will look to continue his hot streak when the Raptors take on the Timberwolves in Minnessota on Wednesday. If he can be this dominating come playoff time, Toronto could be very scary in the Eastern Conference.
