Late in the New York Knicks game against the Charlotte Hornets in Charlotte, the Knicks defense crumbled in the paint. They allowed Cody Zeller to sneak into the paint and finish an easy layup with 0.6 left in the game.
Zeller’s layup was viewed at the game-winning shot but little did the Hornets know, there was a smart 7’3″ Latvian big man waiting to get his moment.
Kristaps Porzingis used his basketball smarts on the offensive end when he saw a play breakdown. Cody Zeller read that Kristaps was supposed to set a screen for Melo so instead Kristaps faked a run into the paint and instead popped out beyond the three-point line and jacked up a three which looked good at first glance but after review, it was waved off.
The Kristaps Porzingis legend lives on.
