Chris Paul is usually the distributor of dunks to DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin in the form of alley-oops and slick passing skills, but tonight he was the one doing the dunking. CP3 is not a major dunker, and he only has 42 career dunks in 11 seasons. Since the start of the 2013 season, he has two dunks total before tonight.
Paul recorded his first dunk of the season with 5 minutes left in the first quarter in the LA Clippers victory against the Washington Wizards. He received the ball way down the court with nobody near him, so he went up for the dunk and JUST got up there.
After the first dunk, Paul must have gained a bit of confidence because with 3 minutes left in the first half, he did it again! Chris weaved through the Wizards defense, and finished at the rim with an and-one dunk over Kelly Oubre Jr. that just made it in there as well.
Chris was able to do the unthinkable tonight by dunking the ball, but what is next, a windmill alley-oop from DeAndre Jordan? Who knows. All I can say is the other contestants in the dunk contest better watch out.
