Kyrie Irving was going to be a big factor in how well the Cavaliers did in the NBA Finals once it begun. He came through, especially in the clutch. He dropped 21 points and had 1 block that saved Game 1 for the Cavaliers in the 4th quarter.
Kyrie did force overtime, but had to leave in OT due to an apparent leg injury. Kyrie has been dealing with knee and ankle issues throughout the NBA Playoffs and he told reporters the Finals would be no different. After the game, Irving was seen using crutches and obviously disappointed in the loss and injury. Irving’s status for Game 2 is questionable and he is having an MRI tomorrow. It sucks to see a player of his caliber have to go through this injury at this time, and it may be the Achilles heal for the Cavaliers, because without Irving the Cavaliers have no chance at this series. Even though he was injured he got a sweet block on Curry, which proves that Irving has clutch running through his genes.
