Carmelo Anthony is quite possibly the most decorated athlete to ever play for the United States Men’s Basketball team. After Team USA won the gold medal game by destroying Serbia 96-66 in the finals, Carmelo Anthony talked about what his third gold medal meant to him.
Melo is the first player to win three gold medal in Men’s international basketball history and he also is the United States current leader in All-Time Points, as well as rebounds. After USA achieved victory, Melo called it a career and he retired from international play.

Anthony also went on to talk about social issues around the country and how important this medal is to the United States.
Carmelo officially stepping away from Team USA Olympics play means we won’t get to see him and LeBron James do one last run in 2020 in Tokyo.
Does this mean that Carmelo’s career is close to being over? Only time will tell but he is 32 years old and not getting any younger.
