The New York Knicks and Utah Jazz are fresh off double overtime games on Martin Luther King day so of course, both teams played each other on Wednesday night and fittingly the two teams went into overtime.
Young Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis was in foul trouble for a good majority of the night but no need to worry, Carmelo Anthony was there to save the day for the Knicks.
Melo got blocked early in the game by Jazz big man Rudy Gobert but he made up for it during his big night. Melo dropped 30 shooting 13-20 from the field while he also handed out nine assists and grabbed seven rebounds in the Knicks 118-111 overtime win.
Carmelo not only got the big win for the Knicks but he also passed Larry Bird on the NBA’s all-time career scoring list in the overtime period. Melo now stands at 21, 793 points for his career. Check out below who is next up on the list for Melo.
