After 12 years in the league, and going on 13, Knicks star Carmelo Anthony finally hit the 22,000 point threshold in a Saturday night win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Carmelo now sits at 22,002 points and needs 194 points to pass Clyde Drexler who sits at spot 29 on the all time scoring list. Most importantly, Carmelo and his 30 points helped the Knicks end a dreadful 7 game losing streak.
With this victory the Knicks are sitting at the 12th spot and are 5.5 games behind the Bulls for the eight seed. They still need lots of things to go their way in order to have a chance at sniffing the playoffs, but if Carmelo can keep dishing out double-doubles in this nature, I think they have a slim chance.
