When the Boston Celtics were in the full swing of things during their return to prominence in 2007, they made a few pivotal moves to bring some key players in. Kevin Garnett was traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Boston Celtics, Ray Allen was sent from the Seattle Supersonics to the C’s, a veteran center started playing more starters minutes in Kendrick Perkins and a little point guard from Kentucky, Rajon Rondo, was moved into the starting lineup. All moves under the guidance of head coach Doc Rivers.
A move during that time that was underrated was how GM Danny Ainge managed to not only acquire Ray Allen from the Supersonics but they also got rookie talent from LSU, Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis, from Seattle who proved to play a pivotal role in the 2008 NBA Championship run by Boston.
Fast forward a few years later, Garnett is way old and in Brooklyn with the Nets, Big Baby went to Orlando to play with the Magic, then left and is currently a member of Doc Rivers’ Los Angeles Clippers.
But recently, in a game against the Chicago Bulls, Garnett attempted to take a bite out of Bulls All-Star center, Joakim Noah, and that sparked up a conversation with Garnett’s former Celtics’ teammate and fan favorite, ‘The Red Mamba’ aka Brian Scalabrine.
Recently, Brian Scalabrine told a story on Fox Sports about KG and Big Baby who had an interesting arm wrestling match.
Garnett’s stories are always the best.
