Blake Griffin didn’t just lead his Clippers past the Houston Rockets on the road in Game 1 of the conference semifinals without Chris Paul, he recorded his second straight triple-double and third of the playoffs while doing it. Griffin recorded his first career playoff triple-double in the first round against the Spurs.
Griffin has continued his stat-stuffing dominance from the first round and the Rockets had the same issues containing Griffin in Game 1. He finished with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, and made his presence felt in every facet of the game — on the block, in transition, at the free throw line, and as a playmaker for his teammates. Griffin’s skill set has never been more on display, and he’s probably performing better than any player in the postseason thus far.
