The Phoenix Suns came into their home matchup with the Atlanta Hawks looking to somehow survive without their two star guards, Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe, along with veteran guard Ronnie Price out for a couple weeks. Bledsoe is out for the season with an injury and Knight has missed the last few contests with an ailment of his own but it’s not expected to be serious.
Withtout Knight, Bledsoe and Price the Suns looked to a pair of young Kentucky guards to carry the load for the Phoenix offense and they sure didn’t disappoint. Sharpshooting Devin Booker put up 15 points on 6-19 shooting including 3-9 from beyond the three point line but it was Archie Goodwin who stole the show.
Goodwin dropped 24 on the night going 7-17 from the field, 2-3 from three and 8-9 from the free throw line. Goodwin’s fourth quarter was wonderful a he threw down a big fastbreak dunk just about midway through the fourth and one of his two made three’s on the night came in the final seconds when he put up a three to win with only 0.1 remaining to win the game for the Suns.
