Two of the best, young big-men in the NBA dueled is New Orleans on Monday. Sacramento Kings’ center DeMarcus Cousins and New Orleans Pelicans’ power forward Anthony Davis put on a show in a close game.
Cousins had an especially strong outing scoring 40 points on 16-29 shooting while adding 16 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a blocked shot. It was another in a long line of games in which Cousins has dominated and carried the Kings on his back.
Alas, Davis walked away with the victory. The Pelicans’ big man was no slouch himself, scoring 31 points on 13-21 shooting while also contributing 10 rebounds, one assists, three steals, and one block. While not quite at the level of Boogie’s production, Davis was able to walk away with the final results.
The game was a phenomenal showing by two superstars who have carried their respective teams. Both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis were able to have productive games in leading the Kings and Pelicans and the results showed in an extremely close game that ultimately went the Pelicans’ way.
