Nikola Vucevic had 33 points and 11 rebounds, Victor Oladipo scored 33 as well and the Orlando Magic shot 59 % from the field on the night in a 121-114 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls are coming off a loss to the Utah Jazz recently and couldn’t afford another big time loss at home.
Just when they couldn’t afford it, it happened and the Magic achieved it’s first win in Chicago since an 83-82 victory on December 16th, 2013. The Magic had lost three in a row and 12 of the last 15 against the Bulls since the start of the 2010-11 season.
Vucevic was 16 for 24 from the field to record his NBA-best 23rd double-double of the season for the Magic and he may be the lone All-Star consideration for them. Vucevic also recorded back-to-back 30 point games for the first time in his career. The fantastic performance for the 7-foot center was highlighted by a drive and left-handed poster dunk over Bulls forward Pau Gasol late in third quarter. Elfrid Payton scored 10 points and handed out 7 assists on the night.
Gasol did lead Chicago with 28 points and 14 rebounds, and Derrick Rose had 18 points and 7 assists. Jimmy Butler dropped 17 points, while Aaron Brooks scored 12 points and Nikola Vucevic scored 11 with both Brooks and Vucevic coming off the bench for the Bulls.
