According to TMZ, one of the men who was shot during Nipsey Hussle’s fatal shooting, has been arrested for having gang ties to the late rapper.
56-year-old Kerry Lathan was taken to the hospital after being shot outside of Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing store. TMZ reports, five days after the incident, Lathan, who is out on parole after serving 20 years for murder, was arrested for associating with Nipsey Hussle, a known gang member.
“One of the standard conditions of parole is not associating with known gang members, and police claim Nipsey was a member of the Rollin 60’s Crips.”
Lathan, who was shot in the back and currently in a wheelchair because he is unable to walk due to his injuries, is now in Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A. where authorities are trying to revoke his parole. Lathan is allegedly the man who got out of jail that Nipsey was trying to buy clothes for.
Nipsey Hussle was laid to rest on Thursday, April 12. His memorial service took place at the Staples Center, where an estimated 20,000 people were in attendance.
