Vic Mensa has had his fair share of attention in the music world over the past six months, but very little of it has been about his music. Tonight, Vic Mensa shifted the discussion back to his music with a new eight track project called Hooligans. On the new project, Vic Mensa touches on his hometown of Chicago, police brutality, love and much more. In addition, his project comes through with features from G Herbo, Jesse Rutherford, Charlie Wilson, Mr. Hudson, Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy and more. The project serves as the initial follow-up to his 2017 album, The Autobiography.
When asked about the project, Vic said, “I’m from a place called Hyde Park. Hyde Park Hooligans. You know, that’s just what it was. There was a couple of energy on that project that reminded me a lot of that.” Later on, he added, “In general, I wanted to make music that could touch on certain pillars of my experience and personality and like really speak directly to them. I was thinking of being a kid and being in high school.” Stream the full project above and let us know what you think of the official follow up to The Autobiography.
