Vic Mensa is standing by his words, regardless of if you like it or not.
Just a few days ago, the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards were taped and brought together notable names of the Hip Hop community. Celebrating the genre and all that has gone on in the past year, BET continued with the tradition of airing pre-recorded cyphers for us to enjoy.
Among the rappers who would show off their skill, Vic Mensa took the opportunity to use the platform to condemn abusers of women and those who stand with them. Taking aim at the late XXXTentacion, feathers were ruffled, especially due to the late rapper’s mother being in attendance.
Catching backlash from XXXTentacion’s fans and others who found the shot distasteful, Vic Mensa took to Instagram to stand by his comments and explain that he did not mean to disrespect XXX’s grieving mother.
Vic proceeded to also share messages from XXXTentacion’s fans, who sent threatening messages to the director of his charity organization.
