Premiering moments ago, Vic Mensa has shared ’16 Shots’ and it digs way deeper than to what the title may have some people alluding to. Premiering on Beats 1, Vic Mensa shared that the record touches on the death of Laquan McDonald, who was shot 16 times and killed in Chicago by law enforcement in October 2014. Being very active and vocal about the issues and various injustices that continue to plague Black people in the United States, the rapper went forth to channel that energy into the music. Passionate, revolting, inspiring and much more, Vic Mensa has made it known with ’16 Shots’ that he’s filled with drive and purpose.
