After trading away Enes Kanter one of the more promising young big guys in the league, and waiving NBA veteran Kendrick Perkins the Jazz needed some help in the frontcourt. This isn’t Cooley’s first time around with the Jazz, on August 19,2014 the Jazz signed Cooley to a contract but waived him later that year on Oct 22nd
Cooley spent four years playing college basketball at the University of Notre Dame where he received Big East most improved and Second-team All-Big East in 2012. In 2013 he received First-team All-Big East honors before going undrafted and spending a year with Trabzonspor of Turkey.
Cooley was averaging 15.5 points and 10.6 rebounds this season for the Stampede before being called up.
Check out Cooley in his most recent D-League game for the Stampede where he had 23 points and 15 rebounds.
