The final chapter for El Chapo is coming to a close. The Univision produced cartel drama is planning on releasing its’ 3rd season, giving a conclusion to the story of Joaquín Guzmán aka ‘El Chapo’ aka one of the most notorious and rich drug cartel leaders ever.
The 13-episode thriller is set to debut on Univision on July 9th. While the previous 2 seasons aired on Sunday, Univision will be airing the show on Monday at 10 PM EST on the Univision networks. The first 2 seasons are already on Netflix and the 3rd and final season should debut after the 13 episode run that sees an end to the Mexican drug cartel saga.
Univision is probably looking to get more fans from Netflix because of the recent success of their original show Narcos but I haven’t heard as much about El Chapo. Regardless, his story needs to be told. He reportedly is the richest cartel boss ever and escaped custody, not one but two times before finally being arrested in 2016 and extradited to the United States.
