Haslem will return to play his 17th season with the team holding the longest streak by an active player with only one team in the league. In a press release, the Miami Heat President of Basketball Operations Pat Riley welcomed Haslem back to the team and talked about the role he’s had in the team and the city of Miami.
“We are proud to welcome our captain back for a 17th season. UD is the heart and soul of Miami and we are proud to have him help lead this team once again.”
Haslem, a three-time NBA Champion with the Heat, has taken a less active role in the team’s roster and worked as a leader and a mentor for the young players in Miami. He has played a total of 854 games with the Heat and has career averages of 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds in 25.2 minutes per game.
