Tyler Hansbrough is returning to North Carolina. The 13th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft has agreed to terms with the Charlotte Hornets according to the Charlotte Observer.
Hansbrough had a prodigious career at North Carolina in college, leading the Tar Heels to an NCAA Title in 2009 and is the Atlantic Coast Conference’s all time leading scorer.
The six year veteran played his first four seasons with the Pacers before spending the last two with the Raptors.
Last season with Toronto, he had averaged 3.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, in 14 minutes per game. For his career, Hansbrough has averages 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Known in college as “Psycho T” for his dominate play, Hansbrough hasn’t lived up to the hype as a lottery pick. Maybe with a change of scenery, and returning to the state where he had most of his success, Hansbrough will improve his level of play.
