Every few years it seems there’s an NBA draft class that is littered with talent from top to bottom. This upcoming 2017 draft class has the potential to have multiple All-Star caliber players, especially from either guard position consisting of names such as Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, De’Aaron Fox, Dennis Smith, and Josh Jackson just to name a few.
Now, expected to add on to the talent coming from the backcourt in this upcoming class, though to a lesser extent, is University of Oregon combo guard Tyler Dorsey who declared for the 2017 NBA Draft via his Twitter account:

As stated in the image Dorsey posted, the sophomore has also decided to hire an agent. This is important to note because Dorsey also declared for the NBA draft after his freshman year concluded but didn’t hire an agent and ended up returning to Oregon for his sophomore year.
As for his performance, it’s safe to say the extra year boosted his stock if anything. Dorsey averaged 13.4 points per game his freshman year but was able to bump that up to 14.6 points per game. The versatile guard also managed to shoot an efficient 46.7% from the field and a blistering 42.3% from behind the three-point arc.
Not only did Dorsey perform throughout the campaign, but he brought out his best when it mattered as his Oregon Ducks team is fresh off a run to the NCAA Final Four. Dorsey brought his A-game all tournament as he was able to torch his opponent for at least 20 points in all five of Oregon’s games, including a 27 point explosion against powerhouse Kansas.
Having the ability to play both guard positions at 6’4″ and boasting a sweet outside touch, it’s easy to envision a team potentially taking a chance on Dorsey in the second round.
