If you’re trying to approach a GRAMMY Award-winning artist like Tyla, you’d better come correct because her latest single is a sign that she’s not interested in accepting anything less than what she’s worth.
On Friday, October 24, 2025, Tyla continued the journey to her next studio LP with the release of “Chanel,” an Ian Kirkpatrick and P2J-produced single that is a party starter as much as it is a state of mind. The South African hitmaker vocally moonwalks over the silky smooth Afrobeat-Amapiano fusion as she sings, “How you say you love me? You ain’t put me in Chanel.”
The singer, alongside songwriters Kirkpatrick, P2J, Bibi Bourelly, and Douglas Ford, name-drops the luxury brand repeatedly, but it is more of a metaphor than it is literal. To celebrate the single’s release, Tyla held a brunch for 25 women in Los Angeles, complete with a bouquet bar, Chanel, and more.
“This song’s very special,” the singer said during a toast at the brunch, according to Heran Mamo of Billboard. “Not only is it about getting spoiled and getting treated like our worth, it’s also just a statement. It’s for the girls. We know our worth. We are who we are. We know what we bring to the table. So come to the table!”
