So the Houston Rockets have 0 idea on what to do in terms of their future. They don’t know whether to stay the course and try to make this ensemble work or blow it all up.
They have attempted both and are now floundering. Everybody has seemingly turned on each other, we have no idea whether Dwight Howard and James Harden like each other or not. Daryl Morey is getting exposed as a GM and Ty Lawson doesn’t know where he’ll be in the future.
For Lawson, he has been in buyout talks for some weeks now. But now, the Rockets have seemingly done another 180 and will keep him.
But a person with knowledge of the negotiations, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of talks, said a buyout is very unlikely.
“I’m just happy here,” Lawson said. “My role, I’m going to keep playing hard every day. I’d rather stay here.“
If you read the coverage of Tristan Thompson last year you would know that when I find a subject exhausting, it’s usually time for people in that subject to do something.
The Houston Rockets are becoming an exhausting subject, Ty Lawson is already an exhausting subject. The Rockets say one thing, commit to it and then a couple of weeks later they do a 180, it does my head in and honestly it doesn’t matter what they do, but they need to do something and stick with it.
