The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the U.S. Capitol yet again. On Saturday, two more U.S. representatives tested positive for the virus. First, Democratic congressman Sean Casten tested revealed his diagnosis just after 3 p.m. via Twitter.
“Today, I tested positive for COVID-19. Thanks to the vaccine, I am fortunate to have only mild symptoms,” Casten tweeted.
Three hours later, Republican lawmaker Young Kim followed suit.
“I just tested positive for COVID-19 and will be proxy voting as I monitor my symptoms. I am feeling fine and am grateful to be vaccinated and boosted. My team and I are continuing to work around the clock to serve [my district] and I look forward to returning to work in person soon,” Kim tweeted.
Kim and Casten are the latest members of Congress to test positive for COVID-19. Just before the new year, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
