Director Patrick Hughes has said that two characters from ‘The Expendables’ franchise are gay.
In an interview with Grantland, Hughes was asked if Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li’s characters were an item.
“I believe they are,” replied Hughes.
A scene toward the end of the third film including Ying Yang (Li) and Trench (Schwarzenegger) snuggling up at a bar sparked speculation online.
‘The Expendables 3’ hit theaters last week and opened with $16.2 million.
It is also at the center of a lawsuit by Lionsgate as a DVD quality rip of the film was uploaded to the internet last month. The studio claimed over 2.2 million people had downloaded it by August 1.
