Chaos has erupted at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania led by former President Donald Trump. On Saturday, July 13, Donald Trump was delivering remarks at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when multiple attendees reportedly heard “popping” noises echo throughout the air. Shortly thereafter, Trump reached for his neck and blood appeared to stream down from his ear. Law enforcement jumped on stage and began to surround the presumptive Republican nominee in an effort to escort him out of the area.
The presumptive Republican nominee says he is “fine” after receiving medical attention following the incident, but two people were reportedly killed at the event, including the shooter and a rally attendee. A third person has reportedly been wounded and is in critical condition, according to the office of Butler County District Attorney Richard A. Goldinger. The identities of those killed and injured during the event have not been shared with the public.
“I have been briefed on the situation. Pennsylvania State Police are on the scene in Butler County and working with our federal and local partners,” Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Lori and I are praying for President Trump, the Secret Service officers who protected him, those attending the event, and all of the first responders still on the scene.”
Members of the Secret Service, Pennsylvania State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are reportedly investigating the crime scene.
