The arraignment of former President Donald Trump in Fulton County, Georgia will likely be televised.
On Tuesday, August 22, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee approved the video and recording requests of four television stations. As a result, those select stations will be able to record the proceedings of McAfee’s courtroom through September 8. Currently, Trump and his 18 co-defendants are expected to be arraigned from September 4 through September 8. However, there’s no word as to whether McAfee will extend the order if there are any delays in the arraignment process.
In the meantime, Trump is expected to sit down with Tucker Carlson for an interview that is set to debut on Twitter on Wednesday, August 23 during the first GOP-sponsored debate of presidential candidates. Hours later, he is expected to turn himself in to Fulton County authorities. The former President’s bond has been reportedly set at $200,000. As for the actual trial, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis aims to begin proceedings within the next six months. However, it is unclear if proceedings will move ahead at that pace.
