Canada in on the rise in terms of the talent they are bringing to the NBA. Corey Joseph, Anthony Bennett, Nik Stauskus, Tristan Thompson and rookie Andrew Wiggins are just some of the young prospects and future stars in this league that call Canada home. All 4 of them actually call the Toronto area home. For little kids growing up in Toronto with a love for basketball, especially when the city is a hockey city, it’s hard to stay true to your dream of playing in the NBA. Whoever does eventually make it to the NBA, usually will remember where they came from. Anyone where you go, there will be little kids dreaming of playing in the arena’s of their hometown favorites. For Tristan Thompson and literally any other Canadian basketball player, playing for the Raptors would be a dream come true:
Tristan was “super pumped” for long-time friend/National Team running mate Cory Joseph, said it’s every Canadian’s dream to be a Raptor

It’s not a secret. If you were to play in Chicago during the Michael Jordan days, or in Los Angeles during any stage, you would want to play in those arenas. For Canadians it’s the Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Raptors. Thompson mentions that it is everyone’s dream, and one NBA player has fulfilled that dream. Corey Joseph recently signed on with the Raptors to play in the ACC for 4 years. Could Tristan Thompson be next? He is currently a RFA and has had separation in terms of his negotiations with the Cavaliers. It’s highly unlikely that the Cavaliers won’t match any offer the Raptors have, because the Raptors can’t afford him with their currently salary. That would mean a sign-and-trade could be in order if Tristan were to join Joseph in Toronto. Or how about Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins? The Raptors have been targeting him ever since he was drafted, could he be a Raptor in 2020?
