The man who currently has his season has being defined by a fantastic no-look shot, now looks at his long-term standing with his current team. Trevor Booker looks to continue his run as a member of the Utah Jazz, despite Utah being out of the playoff picture.
There’s no role for him to be a starter but it seems like Booker doesn’t mind and is interested in sticking around.
Following from the Salt Lake Tribune.
Utah holds a team option on the second year of the contract he signed last summer. Booker thought at the time that it might wind up being a one-season proposition, but he’s now holding out hope for a longer stay. “I definitely want to be back,” Booker said. “I love this place. I have great teammates, and I see big things for the team. I want to be a part of that.”
Sticking around right now would be ideal for Booker. He could play some sort of minutes for the Jazz coming off the bench for Rudy Gobert or Derrick Favors. Booker is a solid option to come off the bench averaging 6.7 points with 4.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game. He won’t be a starter on this team, unless someone gets hurt, but I’m sure next year the Jazz could surprise some people and Booker could be a part of that rebirth. Plus, he’s a cheap fill-in for a reserve forward who works hard whenever his number is called.
