I think we can all agree that the Houston Rockets have been the most underwhelming team in the league this season. I genuinely thought that this is their year to make that extra step and blow up in the Western Conference Finals instead of the 2nd round. But oh my days are they garbage right now!
James Harden is playing like he’s in that NBA Finals with OKC. He’s flashbacking to that, he’s ice cold at the moment. Dwight Howard is nowhere to be seen and Ty Lawson is turning over like there’s no tomorrow. Nobody has ever been more correct than what Trevor Ariza said recently about the fledgling Rockets.
“As a team we’re not playing hard enough,” forward Trevor Ariza said at Monday’s shootaround. “A team is not one individual, its everybody. So we have to get it together. We’re slacking and that’s not the type of team we are, that’s not the type of personalities we have as individuals. Whatever the case may be, we have to snap out of it and get it together.”
“It is what it is,” Ariza said. “We’re not playing our best basketball right now, that’s obvious. So what are going to do to get out of it? We’re going to continue to stay together and just work to get out of it.“
Dwight Howard needs to suck it up, Harden should just keep shooting, go down the Reggie Miller theory “If you’re a shooter on a slump, keep shooting”. And Ty Lawson, he was the main reason why I said that Houston would make the Western Conference Finals! He and the rest of the Rockets have to get on the same page.
