This weekend has been marked by great new music. On Friday, fans were hit with a ton of new music from YG, Mac Miller, Ella Mai, H.E.R, Baka Not Nice and many others. On Saturday, fans were given new music from Future and Chris Brown. Who’s to say what will arrive this Sunday? With all of that being said, one artist has clearly dominated the discussion of rap circles across the world this weekend. Travis Scott’s Astroworld has been anticipated for nearly three years and now that it’s finally here people can’t stop talking about it.
With features from Drake, The Weeknd, Quavo, 21 Savage and many others, fans definitely had a lot to talk about. Not to mention, Travis Scott touched on his relationship with the Kardashians, his new child and much more throughout the album. Forty eight hours in and it’s clear that this will be one of the albums that will be discussed in year end shows and podcasts throughout music. As a result of the hype and anticipation, sales have greatly increased from the Houston native’s last opening week. According to Hits Daily Double, Travis Scott is on pace to land at the top of the Billboard 200 Charts this upcoming week. Scott’s third studio album is on track to move between 300,000 and 400,000 units in its first week. As the weekend comes to a close, we’ll have more numbers to provide about other releases.
