Nashville? Yes, we’re talking about Nashville. The capital of Tennessee has had much more of an impact on Hip-Hop than many actually give it credit for having. Whether it be verses from Starlito or Key Wane producing beats in a Tennessee State University dorm room, the city has been delivering heat for years now. As we continue through a new decade, there are a few artists from the city that you need to get familiar with. Let’s start with Trapperman Dale.
Representing the west side of the city, the Grind Hard signee has been making noise with the release of his new album, Flight Risk. Released in May, the eleven-track ride takes fans through the ups and downs of growing up in Nashville. From more in your face records like “Who You Wit?” to reflective soundstages like “Testimony,” he stands out as both authentic and honest.
Continuing his run in 2020, he has dropped a set of music videos. He kicked off with “Juneteenth” before dropping “Hotel Preston” with Mobsquad Nard. Named after the city’s historic hotel, the new video takes us through Florida as he celebrates with his team. Going from the strip club to grabbing some breakfast, director Deon White showcases the Nashville native living life and having fun. Why wouldn’t you be in a good mood if you’re having one of the best years in music? Check out the full video for “Preston Hotel” below.
